Plane Project for sale...

I have gotten a few requests lately about selling an already made plane project (PB knock off) I would be more than happy...however although the materials do not cost a lot I have to factor in that I would probably have to get a babysitter and I think shipping would be pretty costly...I'll look into shipping cost but I think the total price would be around $100. I would be willing to "customize" the type of airplane used. If anyone is still interested, let me know thecre8tiveoutlet@hotmail.com

Depending how sew-savvy you are...you could make the roman shade yourself, or buy a already made solid white or off white and add trim- thick red ribbon.



I have done this in the past on a drapery panel and used stitch-witchery iron tape. It worked great and took VERY little time!

 I finally finished the table! I decided to DIY this one myself!

When I created the Concept Board - Kid's Space Inspired by a Sock Monkey- I knew I wanted incorporate a "play table". When designing for a child I try to use pieces not just for children, but pieces that can grow with the family. I look for items with a "fun and playful" style but can re purposed throughout time.

Coffee tables make perfect play tables. They are just the right height for a little one to stand and play. Later they can be used as a "conversation" area for a Tween/teen.

When I found this table (above) I loved the curved lines of the legs and the "rustic reclaimed" wood.

I used all new (cheap) boards and distresses and aged them myself. This was a really easy DIY because in this case imperfection = character!

Mason Jar Lanterns

(image via potterybarn.com) As spring finally decides to come around I am reminded of how much time we spend outdoors as a family when the weather is nice! The kids LOVE to be outside and Matt and I really enjoy it too. Although spring brings on other things.....work around the yard. Good thing we don't really mind it! We have a fairly large deck but not a ton of lighting. I saw these Lanterns in PB's latest catalog and knew I could manage to "knock-off" a few of these for those long spring and summer nights! I have a thing for mason jars anyway- and always have a ton laying around. I also had some leftover wire from installing our drop ceiling in the basement bath. Put them together, drop in a tea light and ...done! Estimated cost: less than a dollar per jar! I buy mason jars at the grocery store $5-6 per dozen. I had wire left over but have bought it EXTREMELY cheap by the foot at Lowe's. ***I just found a giant roll of picture hanging wire -also bought cheap at Lowe's and found this to be WAY easier than twisting two pieces of wire together - like I did the first time around! The best thing...This only took about 5 minutes!
