A book...to read or not to read?

To read or not to read is the question?
I'm about to switch on my kindle and download my library rental of "incredibly loud and extremely close" but is looks SO sad. I like a sad but thankful feeling book...but I'm nervous this one is gonna make me cry...
Anyone read it yet? Is it a tear jerk-er?
